# Why do I need to get my dryer vents cleaned?

For starters, clogged dryer vents are huge fire hazards. While your lint trap may play a role in protecting you against fire-related injuries, it is not even close to adequate when it comes to keeping your home safe.

Why? Because only a tiniest portion of the lint from your clothes is caught in that trap! The rest goes into the vent, where it can successfully obstruct the airflow.
